Some of the techniques used by Fox News that appear "bias" are when they interrupt guests that are saying things that they do not want their audience to hear by telling them to shut up. They also use the term "some people say" even though they are the ones that are saying the things. One other thing Fox does is they invite more republican guests to speak than democrats.

They underestimade, or disregard views that do not follow those of thier advid viewers, or better yet the people that work for the show. They use phrases to either say the
"right wing" oppinion, or to stop any other opinion from being shared. Can you tell I'm not a fan of FOX?

I get my news from NPR, and whiel they are very left wing liberal, they allow other people to come on and share the opinion. Thusly being un-biased in what they do. They know where they stand, but are open to other idea's as well. Go NPR/Air America.

All news is too opinionated, no matter what. It all comes from the journalist who gathered the information and put it up on the telepromptor for the reporter to read off. The only way to fic this would be to post both sides of the story, in the same manor. FAT CHANCE OF THAT.

FoX News has certain techniques, like interrupting their liberal guests when they get going on a rant, or using "some people say" to represent a third party, while they should actually be citing their sources.

Some other news channels seem to support one presidential candidate over the other, and even clearly make it known. Even some of the local news shows stereotype the suppporters of the candidates, by interviewing older white Republicans and young, African-American democrats.

In most cases, journalism is not "fair and balanced" but in fact is completely bias. In very few cases, it isn't biased. CNN and Headline News I find to be unbiased televison networks, while even the Democrat and Chronicle is unbiased. I don't think that its wrong for a cable news show to be opinionated, but it's also about balancing that opinion with the opposite one.

Fox used many techniques to "bias" the news presentation. They would use the line "some people say". Also, some newscatsers would tell their guests to "shut up." Most of thier guests were republicans. Lastly, Fox would put subtle graphics in the background to show thier biases.

Locally, I have noticed that news reporters do often say "some people would say". Also, many newscasters will change the tone of their voice to reflect their feelings about the topics.

Fox news is definitely not "fair and balanced." Hardly any media could be described this way, because when writing or reporting on an issue it is difficult to write from an objective standpoint. It is hard to keep your own opinions out of the matter. Cable news is very opinionated. I believe that news should be just that. It should be straight facts with no opinions involved. It's a difficult thing to do but it CAN be done and it NEEDS to be done.

2. I noticed in the 2008 Olympics, many of the chinese competitors seemed to get much higher scores than the competitors from other countries even though their routines were clearly worse than the others.
3. I do not think that the "Fair and Balanced" statement is true in FOX's account, with them bluntly stating their opinions putting "Some People Say" in front of them and exploiting words like "Sniper" changed to "Sharpshooter".

Fox News appeared to be biased in the movie because they never really listened to people that had a different oppion then them. They pushed everyone away if they felt Fox was wrong which then Fox wanted to cut them off.

Some other examples of news being bias is that they all have their opion and thats all they care about, they get upset if a person dont have the same thoughts or oppions as the news people.

I feel Cable news is opinionated and but we all have freedom of speech so they can have an opinion about anything. I think that the whole "Shut Up" thing is an Jerk move...
1. One of the moves used by Fox is telling speakers to Shut Up when they are speaking about something they dont agree with.
2. They choose to exploit the bad in news media and sort of "hide" the good.
3. No...Most journalism isnt fair and balanced. Though they pump it through the minds of their viewers, it doesnt just suddenly become true. Cable news is, in my opinion, a bit to opinionated.

People often state their own opinions on the newscast and eventually tend to get off track from the actual facts. It's also like a battle pretty much. People argue and try dominate one another based on their beliefs about politics.
1. Bias used include interupting people and not letting them explaint themselves and showing the negative side to one person and the positive side to another person without making it equal.
2.News bias include focusing on one issue more than another or portraying someone as something they aren't. Also focusing on what is good can help to be less bias because they are using less adjectives that are purely opinion.
3. I think that sometimes the news is too opinionated and this makes it hard to know waht is true or not, but it also makes the story more interesting. It is important to know what is an opinion and what is fact in these situations.
